Giro d’ Italia 2014 – Ireland
The Giro d ‘Italia is coming to Ireland in May 2104. Starting of from Belfast, the 3 day event will run down through North Ireland to Armagh where it will then come into Ireland and through the border town of Dundalk before finishing in the capital, Dublin. The Giro’s choice of an Irish Grande Partenza is historic. The famous landscapes of Ireland, North and South will be on view via the global television broadcast the Giro achieves and the economic benefits that the event will generate will be immediate.
The Giro d’Italia will stage its ‘Grande Partenza’, the Big Start, in Belfast and Dublin on 10-12 May 2014. Three race days will take place in Ireland with the exact race formats and routes to be confirmed. Day three it will be coming through Dundalk which is only a 20 minute drive from Carlingford Village. This will give the opportunely for people to stay in the Medieval Carlingford but be only a short drive from where the action will take place. There will be a host of events coming up to and on the weekend of the race, this will give people a great inside to what this top sport is really like. The worlds top riders will be on show and this is definitely an event not to be missed. The world will be watching!
We here at Visit Carlingford will be running packages for the event and these packages will include Accommodation, Activities, Transport to and from Dundalk and Tickets for the different events that will be running over the weekend of May 10th – 12th.
